Gravel straight from the source
Gravel is crushed and screened rock — mostly limestone around Calera — sorted into sizes by number. The lower the number, the bigger the stone. Because we load straight at the quarries next to our yard, you get fresh, correctly graded stone at wholesale price instead of paying a landscape yard to re-sell it.
Choosing the right gravel
- For driveways: a compacted base of 825B, #411 or crusher run, topped with 2–3" of #57 or driveway gravel.
- For drainage: clean #57 or #67 — no fines, so water moves through freely.
- For paths and play areas: pea gravel — smooth, comfortable underfoot, easy to rake.
- For ditches and erosion: rip rap Class I or II to armor the bank.

Types of Gravel We Deliver
#57 Gravel
Clean ¾"–1" blue-gray crushed stone. Excellent drainage for French drains, backfill around foundations, driveway top layers and fence posts. Always looks clean after rain.
#67 Gravel
½"–¾" crushed stone. Same uses as #57 in a slightly smaller size — popular for walkways, concrete mix and drainage.
#78 Gravel
⅜"–½" chip stone for concrete, asphalt mix, walkways and decorative top dressing.
825B / Base Stone
Graded base that compacts hard. The standard base under driveways and parking lots.
#5 Gravel
1"–1½" stone for drainage, driveways with heavy traffic and construction entrances.
#4 Stone
1½"–2" stone for septic fields, road and driveway base, and ditch drainage.
#2 Stone
2½"–3" stone for construction entrances and heavy-duty base.
Rip Rap Class I
10"–24" rock for ditches, culverts, rock walls and erosion control.
Rip Rap Class II
12"–36" rock for heavier erosion control along banks and outfalls.
Gabion Stone
Sized rock for filling gabion baskets and retaining structures.
Pea Gravel
Smooth, rounded ⅜" gravel for paths, patios, dog runs and playgrounds.

What is the best gravel for a driveway?
A two-layer driveway lasts longest: 4–6" of compacted 825B, #411 or crusher run as the base, then 2–3" of #57 or driveway gravel on top. Angular crushed stone locks together; rounded pea gravel does not.
How much gravel do I need?
Length × width × depth (ft) ÷ 27 = cubic yards; × 1.4 = tons. Or use our gravel calculator.
Do you deliver gravel near me?

Can you spread the gravel?
